Summary:
Perform inspections on hardware, creating complex set:ups, using mathematical computations and drawing interpretations needed to assure product meets requirements. Processes, routes and files documentation in order to keep records available at required location.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
:Works from written and oral instructions, engineering drawings and specifications to select, plan, set up and use standard measuring equipment to inspect hardware for conformity with specifications. 1st Piece inspections, 1st article inspections I.A.W.ASxxxx.

Reviews documentation and procedures to ensure the accuracy of work and the information is conveyed without additional interpretation to produce the highest quality product possible.
:
Keep communication lines open to provide information/status required for changes to processes or schedules.
:
Keep work place safe, neat and orderly, meeting cleanliness requirements.
:
Provide continuous improvement of the quality and productivity.
:
Performs all functions in accordance with ISO/ASxxxx specifications.
:Performs other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
:
High school diploma or equivalent. Must have knowledge of interpreting drawings and understanding of ANSI Y 14, Dimensional Tolerancing. Requires a thorough understanding of Quality practices and a working knowledge of machine shop practices. Preferred: Two years college with a math background or two years trade school (machine shop). Training on ANSI Y 14.2, Dimensional Tolerancing

3:5 years experience inspecting machined parts.
:
Knowledge of CMM, Optical Comparator, Non:Contact inspection equipment, Surface finish equipment, Height gages, Calipers, Laser Micrometer, Laser marking equipment, plug gages and thread gages.

Requires concentrated attention for extended periods of time to review contracts/drawing
requirements/specification to plan and lay out complex inspection work, make mathematical calculations, and set up and inspect items.

Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 30 pounds on a daily basis.

Ability to walk and move about, stoop, kneel, bend and crouch.

Ability to reach and grab with hands.

Corrected or normal vision and hearing.

Ability to stand for long periods of time.

High level of noise in some areas of the manufacturing environment.

Must be able to bend from the waist to load parts and equipment without strain.
